Introduction

The born of NSPS has a significant impact especially to the Parkinson’s community in  Negeri Sembilan. It all started 8 years ago when a Seremban Parkinson’s Support Group (SPSG) was established. Thus SPSG’s inception on the 15th June 2003 marked a monumental start for Parkinson’s group in Negeri Sembilan. SPSG was formed when Malaysian Parkinson’s Disease Association (MPDA) had its first Public Forum in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan in 2003.

Dr Chew Nee Kong, a Consultant Neurologist and the President of MPDA then, initiated the effort and lead by a group of caregivers whose family are a Parkinson’s patient (PP).

Within that period SPSG have organised a lot of activities including monthly talks, home visits, family day and celebrating special days like the World Parkinson’s Day and Charity event. Realizing that SPSG is not an entity by itself then and there are so much to be done for the neglected Parkinson’s community especially in Negeri Sembilan, thus NSPS was born.
